This place is very local to us and is one we have checked from time to time over the past couple of years so when we saw @MotionlessMike had done it we had to go for a look.

There has been a church on this site since the 1880's, the original church being corrugated iron. The existing building was opened in 1929, it is built in red brick with a Welsh slate roof and was designed by William Ellis, a Manchester architect who designed multiple Catholic churches in the region. The church closed in 2019.

The church has suffered from a bit more vandalism since the last report and there isn't a massive amount to see although the interior colour scheme is interesting.

Nice photos. I like the B&W. Churches getting trashed is a particular kind of boil my piss, Im not religious at all. Just something that doesn't sit well with me. Natural decay different story.

Cheers, this church is in a pretty rough area and has been all over Facebook so it will probably go downhill quick. It is sad to see churches vandalised, its especially annoying to see stained glass being smashed!

The Church and Presbytery are now owned by my family to make a family home and try to save or restore some or all of the Church 🤞🙌😍
